I may have finished a quilt top yesterday. I wish I'd had enough fabric to make it 20% larger, so now I need to decide if I'm done at 48" x 48" or if I want to add one or two borders to get it to 60" by 60".
On Tuesday I made this quilt block for the Astronomical Quilts challenge and mailed it off. But I really kinda loved it. I had 2-3 yards of each fabric that I had used, so I could definitely recreate it, but I have a lot of projects on my to do list. And I've really been loving the giant one block quilts I've been seeing, so I decided I could easily justify starting another project if it was just gonna be a quick giant block. Well, I started it Wednesday and finished it Thursday. It's totally a project that could be done in a day, including quilting. If, ya know, you weren't also taking care of a 2-year-old and a 4-year-old. ;-) I love it. I don't know what I'm going to do with it. For now I'll just keep staring adoringly at it. And trying to think of a name*. And I think I might need to take it shopping with me to see if we can find some border fabric that it likes.
*Speaking of naming it, I'm trying to get good at naming quilts so I'll refrain from calling this one "Giant Wonky Star." And as you may know, "Frieda" is already taken. :-)
I've linked up to Needle and Thread Thursday.

You could call it "bubbles". It's beautiful! I wish I had your talent!

Post authorThank you, Peri. The best part was how fast this one was!

I think it needs to have a Seuss inspired name like Lorax or Who-ville.

Post authorI was thinking celestial... but I could totally go Seuss. ;-)

Before reading your comment, I was thinking something astronomical, so I looked in Wikipedia and found Zeta Puppis, a blue supergiant.

Like you near the finish I also wonder if I should add more borders. Loving those giant blocks I've been seeing too, yours is lovely.
