I'm excited to share that I was recently selected to be an Aurifil Artisan. If you've been reading my blog you know that I love and use Aurifil thread in all my projects. 50 wt Aurifil is my go to for piecing and quilting. I'm excited to have the opportunity to try out some of their other products that I haven't had a chance to use. In the coming months you'll see me quilt in thicker threads. I'd also like to do some embroidery on a small project and to try out their monofilament thread.
I arrived home from a trip on Wednesday to my Aurifil Artisan welcome package. Here's a peek at my new goodies. You can view the handy Aurifil brochure online, containing information about their entire line of thread.
Look for upcoming posts by the Artisans on Aurifil's Blog, Auribuzz, and look for Artisan projects on Instagram @aurifilthread.

Post authorIt's pretty darn exciting! And for all the Aurifil I own, this is my first Aurifil case. That's exciting in and of itself. I hope yours arrives soon.

Hi Sarah, I just came across your great post from several years ago about using the Ed Emberley thumbprint book to make designs for quilt squares. I love it! I was wondering what kind of ink the kids used for the thumbprints--something that would come off their hands but still work for fabric.

Post authorThank you Anne-Marie. The teachers did that step with the kids before I helped them piece their blocks so I'm not sure what kind of paint they used. I'll reach out to them and get back to you if I hear an answer.

Congratulations! A well deserved honour. I wish we could get Aurifil cheaper here. $14/$15 a spool is hard to swallow.
sarah
Post authorThank you, Anja. I'm curious how this compares to other brands. The Aurifil 50wt large spool is 1422 yards/1300 meters.
