I love the Very Hungry Caterpillar. The Boy's room is decorated in that theme, and I made him a crib quilt before he was born using the vibrant Very Hungry Caterpillar fabrics. I've also made him an apron and chef's hat with the fabric. It is so fun to work with!

Now that he's been transitioned to a twin-sized bed for quite a while, it's time I start thinking about making him a bed quilt. Trouble is, The Girl is also in a twin bed now and I haven't even finished her baby quilt! So, while The Boy's bed quilt is not atop the to do list, I did decide on a pattern and purchase the additional fabric to supplement what I have left in my stash from previous projects. I'll be using Fat Quarter Shop's free new pattern, Fat Quarter Fizz, for this project.

I also did a small amount of impulse shopping for the stash, 1) Michelle Engel Bencsko, House and Garden, Straw Hat in Yellow and 2) Makower UK, Jolly Farm, Abstract in Blue:

Next time you see this quilt I will definitely have decided on a name for it and made it a lovely label. For now, it's still the Giant Wonky Star Quilt. I added the borders and pieced a backing. Here it is.

My inspiration came from my submission to the Astronomical Quilts! Block Challenge.

I love so many of the pages in this Logic Book Quiet Book. So for round two of our quiet book page swap I chose to make a Colored Strips Pyramid. Well, 16 of them. The idea is for the child to build a design they see to the right using the five felt strips.

My sister designed the digital file showing the 5 examples so I could print them at Spoonflower. It was totally worth it to me to pay for the print-on-demand fabric so that I didn't have to deal with tiny pieces of felt to make 80 patterns! My pages are 9" x 12". I attached the fabric with the example designs and one 7.5" strip of velcro onto the page. The 5 felt strips measure 1.5" tall, with widths of 2", 3", 4", 5" and 6". I added ribbon for visual and textural interest and each felt strip has a 1.5" piece of velcro on the back.
