So, while I'm sad that I wasn't able to participate in the recent Bay Area Shop Hop since I was away on vacation, when I look at my stash I realize it could be worse. I have some beautiful fabric purchased at past shop hops that I haven't used yet.
Today I'm sharing this fun pile of fabric purchased during the 2005 Bay Area Shop Hop. I was inspired by Jan Mullen's beautiful quilt Roman Stripez in her 2001 book Cut-Loose Quilts.
Just looking at my fabric and folding it into cute little rectangles has re-energized my excitement for this project, two quilts using the same 31 fabrics, with unique backing fabrics. Now to find a little time to work on cutting it out.
I'm unsure of my choice of mixing batiks and non-batiks, but I like all the fabrics.

Personally I think the mix of batiks and other fabrics works fine here. Great colours

Love these fabrics! I've been in the mood to work with yellow, green, and blue for a while and this just reiterates that I really need to do it. Have fun!

Post authorThank you, Cathy. I think they will be really fun to work with.

I love mixing batiks on with 'reglular' fabrics. The batiks are wonderland blenders. These quilts are going to be gorgeous!

Post authorThank you, Lori! This will be my first (and second) "mixed" quilts.

I think the mix of batiks and other prints is fabulous. Green is my very favorite color, all shades of it. These will be gorgeous. Looking forward to seeing your progress on both of them.

Post authorThank you Bernie... they are in my massive to do list, but there are so many things higher on the list. I might need to reorder. :-)

I mix batiks in with my prints all the time - this pull of fabrics looks wonderful and I look forward to seeing the quilts you create!
